The White Witch (Hysania agrippina) is a large species of moth closely related to the Black Witch (Ascalapha odorata).
It has the greatest wingspan of any insect. The largest specimen is a female owned by John G. Powers of Ontario, Canada with a wingspan of 308 mm collected in 1934.
Distribution[]
The moth regular appears in Mexico, Central and South America but straying moths have been found in the southern states of North America.
Habitat[]
They may feed on the foliage of Senna and Cassia but their foodplant is not yet known.
